The much-awaited mythological drama ‘Shaakuntalam’, starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu, has a new release date. The film will now release in theatres on February 17 worldwide.
It was earlier scheduled to hit the screens on November 4, 2022, but the release was postponed to make the film available in the 3D format as well.
The makers and Samantha shared the news on their official social media handles on Monday and wrote, ‘Witness the #EpicLoveStory #Shaakuntalam in theatres from Feb 17th 2023 Worldwide! Also in 3D’.
A new poster of ‘Shaakuntalam’ was also released that shows Samantha and Dev Mohan sharing a romantic moment.
It is one of the most anticipated movies in Telugu and is based on a much-renowned Sanskrit play of Kalidasa ‘Abhijnana Shakuntalam’. Directed by Gunasekhar (Rudhramadevi), it portrays a beautiful love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant, which will be played by Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan respectively.
‘Shaakuntalam’ will release in five languages - Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
