Filmmaker SS Rajamouli and his son SS Karthikeya experienced an earthquake in Japan on March 21. Karthikeya took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share his smartwatch's earthquake alert. He mentioned being on the 28th floor with the ‘RRR’ team when the earthquake struck.
‘Felt a freaking earthquake in Japan just now!!! Was on the 28th floor and slowly the ground started to move and took us a while to realise it was an earthquake. I was just about to panic but all the Japanese around did not budge as if it just started to rain!! Experience an earthquake box ticked.,’ SS Karthikeya shared.
It has been reported that Japan was hit by an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.3.
Fans expressed concern and offered prayers for SS Rajamouli and his son's safe return to India after experiencing an earthquake in Japan.
‘Glad you're safe. Please continue to be careful,’ one fan said. Another added, ‘I'm relieved to hear that you are safe.’
Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, has garnered immense popularity in Japan. The film was a blockbuster upon its release in the country, and fans have continuously shown their support to the filmmaker.
Rajamouli, Karthikeya, and Shobu recently arrived in Japan for a special screening of ‘RRR’.
After the special screening of the movie, Rajamouli shared pictures of him and his wife Rama hugging an 83-year-old fan.
‘In Japan, they make origami cranes &gift them to their loved ones for good luck& health. This 83 yr old woman made 1000 of them to bless us because RRR made her happy. She just sent the gift and was waiting outside in the cold. Some gestures can never be repaid. Just grateful,’ he wrote, overwhelmed by the love.
Amid their visit, they have also been providing updates about Rajamouli’s upcoming film, ‘SSMB 29’, starring Mahesh Babu.
