Tamil comic actor Mayilsamy passes away at 57; Kamal Haasan and others pays tribute

Actor and comedian Mayilsamy passed away in Chennai on Sunday. The 57-year-old died after suffering a heart attack as tweeted by the Artistes association.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala also confirmed his demise through his Twitter handle.

Several celebrities paid tribute to Mayilsamy on social media.

Kamal Haasan took to Twitter and wrote, ‘My friend Mylaswamy is successful in presenting his own style of comedy acting. He is thought by many to be helpful. A tribute to a dear friend #Mayilsamy.’

R Sarath Kumar also paid tribute to him and wrote, ‘Shocked and shattered on hearing the untimely demise of my good friend, great human being, philanthropist Mayilsamy. Deeply saddened. My heartfelt condolences to his family, relative, friends and colleagues of the film industry #RipMayilsamy.’

Actor Sakshi Aggarwal wrote, ‘Shocked to hear the news. Your sense of humor and positive attitude always filled the shooting spot with laughter and happiness.. RIP #Mayilsamy sir. Condolences to family and friends.’

Mayilsamy has been a part of more than 100 films. He was also known as scene-stealer due to his impeccable comic timings. Just a day before, he completed the dubbing of his upcoming movie ‘Glassmate’.
