Vijay Deverakonda’s pan-India sports drama ‘Liger’ received highly negative reviews and its box office earnings were also disappointing. Vijay has been in low spirits after the film’s debacle. The actor also got emotional during his speech at the South Indian International Movie Awards, where he revealed that he didn’t even want to attend the event.

While receiving the Youth icon of the year (Male) award, Vijay said, ‘We all have good days. We all have not-so-good days. We all have sh**ty days. But irrespective of how we feel, we get up… And today I actually maybe didn’t want to be here taking this award, but I came here and as I speak to you, I promise to you that I will get the job done for all of you and you will be entertained. And great cinema will be made.’

His emotional acceptance speech has gone viral on the internet and fans are dropping heartfelt messages for the actor on social media.

One fan wrote, ‘I can feel his pain,’ while another one wrote, ‘He will rise stronger. Always with you, Anna!’

‘Liger’, directed by Puri Jagannadh, also starred Ananya Panday, Ronit Roy and Ramya Krishnan. The movie also had boxing legend Mike Tyson’s cameo.

Vijay Deverakonda is now awaiting the release of ‘Kushi’, co-starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
