Kannada actor Darshan was promoting his forthcoming film ‘Kranti’ in Karnataka’s Hosapete on Sunday evening when a slipper was hurled at him. Details are yet to emerge about the person who threw the slipper at him while he addressed his fans.
Darshan sparked huge outrage over his recent comments on ‘luck goddess’ during a promotional event of his film ‘Kranti’. Many people have called out his misogynistic views towards women. He also made headlines after he was arrested over accusations of assaulting his wife about a decade ago.
In a viral video, the police are seen surrounding Darshan immediately after the slipper hit his shoulder. The actor is heard saying, ‘It is not your mistake brother, no problem’ as he tries to calm down his angry fans in the gathering. He immediately left the venue with police protection.
He also garlanded the statue of late actor Puneeth Rajkumar in the town.
Darshan’s upcoming film ‘Kranti’ is scheduled to hit screens on January 26. The movie, directed by V Harikrishna, also stars Rachita Ram.
