Actor Arjun Kapoor penned a heartfelt tribute to footballer Sunil Chhetri as he bid an emotional farewell to his fans after the India vs. Kuwait FIFA World Cup 2026 qualification match at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. Arjun shared a photo of the iconic footballer on his Instagram story, accompanied by a touching message.

‘End of an era. Thank you, Sunil Chhetri for the memories, the passion and the unmatched dedication,’ wrote Arjun, who is an avid football fan. The actor is often spotted playing the game with his fellow actors Ranbir Kapoor and Kartik Aaryan.

Actor Abhishek Bachchan also shared a picture of Sunil Chhetri on his Instagram. In the photo, Chhetri stands in the stadium with his hands folded in the air, wearing his football jersey.

Abhishek accompanied his post with a congratulatory message: "Congratulations, Cap, on such a legendary career! It has been an honour to see you play for the country and lead by example," Bachchan wrote.

Meanwhile, Arjun Kapoor has been making headlines for his rumored breakup with Malaika Arora. Recently, he shared a cryptic post about ‘life choices’ on social media.

The quote read, ‘We have two choices in life. We can be prisoners of our past or explorers of future possibilities,’ suggesting that we can either let the past hold us back or look forward to new opportunities.

A few days back, Arjun and Malaika sparked breakup rumours after a source informed Pinkvilla that their relationship has ‘run its course.’

‘Malaika and Arjun had a very special relationship and both of them will continue to hold a special place in each other’s hearts. They have chosen to part ways and will maintain a dignified silence in this matter. They won’t allow anyone to drag and dissect their relationship,’ a source told Pinkvilla.

‘They had a long, loving, fruitful relationship that has unfortunately run its course now. That doesn’t mean there is any bad blood between them. They respect each other hugely and have been a pillar of strength for each other. Over the years, they have given their relationship a lot of respect. They will continue to give each other the same respect despite them deciding to part ways. Both of them were in a serious relationship for years, and they expect people to be gracious enough to give them space at this emotional time,’ the source added.

However, Malaika’s manager denied the rumours and assuring they were very much together.
