'The Idol' starring Lily-Rose Depp and Abel Tesfaye aka The Weeknd has been cancelled. Entertainment Weekly reported that the HBO drama will not be continued for the second season.

"The Idol was one of HBO's most provocative original programs, and we're pleased by the strong audience response. After much thought and consideration, HBO as well as the creators and producers have decided not to move forward with a second season. We're grateful to the creators, cast, and crew for their incredible work," an HBO spokesperson told Entertainment Weekly.

Starring The Weeknd, Lily-Rose Depp, Dan Levy, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Hank Azaria, Jane Adams, Da'Vine Joy Randolph and BLACKPINK’s Jennie, the show is about the real life story of a famous singer who wants to be the ‘greatest and sexiest pop star in America’.
