Manya Singh, model and former Miss India runner-up, was eliminated from reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss 16’. She was nominated alongside two popular actors Shalin Bhanot and Sumbul Touqeer. Post her eviction, Manya, in an exclusive chat with indianexpress.com, claimed that her elimination was ‘unfair’ as she is not a regular face like Sumbul and Shalin. She is the second contestant to be evicted from the reality show.
Manya believes that she was probably ‘too nice and vulnerable’ on the show, and she would like to change in case she is given a second chance to enter the house.
Manya was loved by majority of the audience, but she was also called out by many fans, including Bigg Boss 7 winner Gauahar Khan, for continuously boasting about being Miss India. When she was asked if she was being arrogant about her title, Manya defended herself and said that people just noticed her words but did not understand what led to her outburst. She said she was being shamed for her look and background.
‘I was shamed for my look and background. They said I came from the gutter and did not deserve the title. You can’t expect me to be kind to them. Also, if people will question my profession, I will answer them in the same manner. I wonder why people didn’t see how I was treated. And if someone has followed the show, they would know I was being so real. I never used my title or acted arrogant about it,’ Manya told indianexpress.com.
In her conversation Manya also named filmmaker Sajid Khan as a friend, who was named during the #MeToo movement by multiple women. Talking about his participation on the show, she said, ‘Since I just exited the game, I really don’t know about the discussion and debate around him. But I do feel that everyone deserves a second chance in life, and he is living that in the show.’
