A case has been registered against actor Karanvir Bohra and five others at Mumbai's Oshiwara Police Station for allegedly duping a 40-year-old woman of ₹1.99 crore. According to a tweet by news agency ANI, the Oshiwara Police said that Karan had promised the woman that the total amount would be returned at 2.5 % interest but only an amount of over ₹1 crore was given back.
Another tweet by ANI said that the woman reportedly claimed she didn't get a proper response from the actor and his wife Tajinder Sidhu and they threatened to shoot her.
Police have started the investigation in the case and are likely to record Karan and Tajinder's statements soon.
Manoj Bohra, who is popularly known by his stage name Karanvir, has been a part of several reality shows like 'Lock Upp,' 'Nach Baliye 4,' 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6,' 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 5' and 'Bigg Boss 12.'
On the show 'Lock Upp,' Karanvir mentioned that he has been unable to clear 3-4 debts and that his career wasn't going great for the last seven years. He said since 2015 he took up whatever work he was offered just to return the money and pay back his debts.
