Television actor Dev Joshi will be a part of the dearmoon project, a week-long trip around the moon. He has posted a video on Instagram sharing his excitement. Dev added, 'Its been a very long process of last 18 months to clear various rounds of interviews, medicals, exams, psychological evaluations and meetings with the team of #dearMoonproject, but finally, we worked hard and this is where we have reached! Thank you for your never ending support and love! To all the Indians around the world, I am proud to represent my country in the field of Space and Art Together! You have seen me Flying in space as Superhero, Time to make it Real!'
In the video, he introduced himself and talked about his acting career. He said, 'I have heard and read many songs and poems since childhood when we regarded the moon as Chanda mama. To meet him face to face is an exciting time for me.'
The 'Baal Veer' actor is part of the eight-member crew, who will take a trip to space and travel around the moon’s orbit on the specially designed spacecraft, Starship, developed by Elon Musk’s SpaceX. While they will take a trip to space, they will not land on the moon.
K-pop star T.O.P, American DJ Steve Aoki, American YouTuber Tim Dodd, Czech choreographer Yemi A.D., Irish photographer Rhiannon Adam, British photographer Karim Iliya and American filmmaker Brendan Hall will also be part of the first civilian moon mission led by Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa.
