Netflix's beloved regency drama, Bridgerton, will centre its Season 4 love story on Benedict Bridgerton, portrayed by Luke Thompson. Following in his siblings' footsteps, Benedict will seek his true love. Whether he succeeds remains to be seen.
Netflix announced the news with a teaser showing Thompson reading the Season 4 script. The post caption read, ‘Benedict Bridgerton has been unmasked as next season's newest suitor. Please scream to celebrate our boy.’
Bridgerton's official social media announced, ‘It has been brought to this author’s attention that perhaps it is time to unmask the newest suitor of the marriage mart. Benedict Bridgerton's story is coming next season.’
Fans eagerly reacted, with one commenting, ‘Can it be out like tomorrow already?’ and another saying, ‘I am looking forward to it.’
Previous seasons focused on Benedict's siblings, Daphne, Anthony, and Colin, as they pursued their romantic interests. The release date for Season 4 is yet to be announced.
Season 4 of Bridgerton will follow Julia Quinn's third novel, ‘An Offer From a Gentleman.’ The story revolves around Benedict Bridgerton's quest to find the ‘lady in silver,’ whom he meets at a masquerade ball. She is revealed to be Sophie Beckett, a low-born woman.
Netflix states, ‘The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Luke Thompson). Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down—until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.’
At the end of ‘Bridgerton’ Season 3, Benedict engages in a threesome with Lady Tilley Arnold (Hannah New) and her friend Paul (Lucas Aurelio) after Tilley encourages him to explore. When Tilley decides she wants to return to monogamy, Benedict gently ends the relationship, not ready to settle down after discovering a new side of himself.
‘Benedict has always been a little lost — or free depending on the way you want to look at it. But now he’s trying to find something a bit more solid in himself,’ Luke Thompson told Netflix’s Tudum, which announced the news of ‘Bridgerton’ Season 4’s lead on July 23.
