Keanu Reeves' character in Chad Stahelski's ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ has paved the way for more franchise installments. According to Deadline, a sequel series titled ‘John Wick: Under the High Table’ is now in development.
‘John Wick: Under the High Table’ takes place directly after the events of ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’. The synopsis reveals that ‘John Wick has left the High Table world in a precarious state, with new characters vying to establish their dominance while some familiar faces remain loyal to the old order.’
The series aims to ‘blend the new with the old and propel the Wick universe into a new era.’
The series will be written and directed by Robert Levine, known for The Old Man. Levine will also executive produce the project alongside Keanu Reeves, Chad Stahelski, and Thunder Road Films. Chad Stahelski is set to direct the pilot episode. While Keanu Reeves is not currently expected to act in the series, he is heavily involved in the project.
‘Under the High Table’ will be the second series in the franchise, following ‘The Continental: From the World of John Wick’, which streamed on Prime Video India last year.
Upcoming John Wick projects include an untitled fifth installment, with Keanu Reeves returning to his iconic role and Chad Stahelski set to direct. Additionally, a spin-off centered on Ana de Armas’ character Ballerina, set between the third and fourth films, is titled John Wick Presents: Ballerina and is scheduled for release on June 6, 2025.
Donnie Yen’s blind assassin Caine, introduced in John Wick: Chapter 4, will also star in a new spin-off. This series will continue Caine’s story after being freed from his High Table obligations. The screenplay is being written by Robert Askins, known for his work on Netflix's The Umbrella Academy, AMC's The Son, and his Tony-nominated play Hand to God.
