Prabhas starrer ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is all set to release in theatres on June 27, 2024. Ahead of its global release, the makers unveiled the teaser for its animated prelude, titled ‘B and B: Bujji and Bhairava’, which will be available on Amazon Prime Video from May 31.
The two-part series will feature Prabhas’ character Bhairava and his futuristic vehicle Bujji.
Prime Video also released a 52-second video featuring a group of children asking Bhairava how long they have to wait, as summer is almost over. They also question why he’s always welding. Bhairava then asks Bujji to show the kids the ‘surprise,’ and she reveals a glimpse of their adventures in animated style. This aligns with a leaked picture widely shared on X by fans, showing an animated Bujji and Bhairava, which many speculated would be used for the film’s promotions.
Following Bujji’s grand unveiling at a recent event in Hyderabad, the upcoming limited series aims to expand the universe of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ and provide fans with an exciting glimpse into the dynamic duo’s adventures.
A few days ago, production house Vyjayanthi Movies, bankrolling the mammoth project, released a minute-long teaser showcasing the banter between Prabhas and his sarcastic, AI-powered car on the battlefield.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’, set in a post-apocalyptic world, is directed by Nag Ashwin. It features a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani.
Initially announced under the working title Project K, director Ashwin had made some intriguing revelations about the epic science-fiction film earlier this year, promising that 'Kalki 2898 AD' will be an extraordinary visual spectacle.
‘Our film starts in Mahabharata and it ends in 2898. That’s the title of the film; it’s called Kalki 2898 AD. It spans 6,000 years of distance and time. So, we are trying to create worlds that are rooted here, imagining what it could be like, while still keeping it Indian and not making it look like Blade Runner,’ he said while addressing the Synapse 2024 event in Gurgaon.
