Connor Swindells and Amber Anderson are officially married!
The Sex Education star, 28, and Peaky Blinders actress, 32, tied the knot at the Boath House in the Scottish Highlands, a special location near Anderson's hometown.
In an interview with Vogue, Anderson revealed that she took the reins on most of the wedding planning, with some help from a Wide Sky Weddings planner in the final weeks.
For her wedding dress, Anderson almost settled on the first gown she tried on but decided to explore a fitting at Vivienne Westwood. It was there that she found ‘the one.’
‘I just knew as soon as I tried it on,’ she said.
‘It accentuated my favorite features and made the parts I didn’t love fade away. It looked amazing sitting or standing,’ she added.
She completed her look with a satin white strapless gown, paired with elegant elbow-length tulle gloves, fine jewelry from Chanel, and Roger Vivier silver shoes. Her “something blue” was a blue silk bag from Patou in Paris, featuring the couple’s initials and a heart embroidered inside.
Swindells also added a sentimental detail, wearing Grenson shoes with their initials etched into the soles.
A key focus of the wedding was involving their loved ones. Actor Alistair Petrie, who portrayed Swindell’s father on Sex Education, officiated the ceremony, while Anderson’s godmother gave her away at the altar.
Anderson explained, ‘My dad sadly isn’t very well, so he wasn’t able to do it. She is the godparent he chose for me, so it felt like a lovely way of having him there.’ Classical musician Sean Shibe played her father’s guitar as she walked down the aisle. The ceremony also featured readings and a unique aura cleansing of the groom by comedy duo Maddy and Marina Bye. Their dog, Moose, took on the important role of ring bearer.
Anderson described the tone of the day as ‘meaningful but not overly serious—just how we wanted it.’
Before the reception, the couple participated in a Celtic quaich ceremony, sipping whisky from a shared cup. The reception featured Scottish fare, including haggis, neeps, and tatties, and instead of a traditional wedding cake, they served individual chocolate nemesis cakes, a nod to their favorite dessert from River Café.
The pair, who met on the set of Emma (directed by Autumn de Wilde), had the director give a speech at the reception. Their first dance was to ‘The Orcadian Strip The Willow,’ and Anderson changed into a second Vivienne Westwood creation—a tartan corset and skirt with biker boots—for the ceilidh, a Scottish dance party that wrapped up the evening.
The next day, the couple and their guests gathered at the pub Kimberley for a memorable moment, running and jumping off the pier into the sea. Anderson said, ‘I think that might have been my favourite moment of the weekend.’
