Adar Poonawalla backed Serum Insitute has applied for EU authorities nod for Covishield to ensure it is eligible for travellers to get the 'Green Pass' or vaccine passport for EU.  The application has come at a time when beneficiaries of Covishield were termed ineligible for travelling to the European Union

Reports indicate that Serum expects the vaccine to be cleared soon for emergency use authorisation with the EMA.

COVID-19 vaccines developed by AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson and Johnson have received EMA's emergency use authorisation. Those administered these vaccines are eligible for the EU's digital certificate or Green Pass.
