Germany managed to pull through the group stage with a late 2-2 draw against Hungary at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Thursday.
The nerve-wracking evening saw the first goal from Captain Adam Szalai, giving Hungarians the upper hand for the complete first half. Kai Havertz finally equalized the score in the 66th minute only to be left behind a moment later. Andras Schafer netted the goal again for Marco Rossi's side in the 68th minute.
Leon Goretzka, however, saved the day for Germany as he levelled the match in the 85th minute, helping the former World champions secure the 2nd spot in Group F. They will now face England in the round of 16 on Tuesday.
