F1 Teams & drivers condemn racist abuse towards Lewis Hamilton

Formula 1 stakeholders have joined hands in a fight towards racism in the Sport as Mercedes, Red Bull and governing body the FIA issued a joint statement condemning the online racist abuse aimed at Lewis Hamilton. 

The 7-time World Champion was targeted on social media after his crash with rival Max Verstappen on the opening lap of the British Grand Prix on Sunday.

Reports suggest that Formula 1 management is compiling a dossier of the online abuse which is racist in nature and will take the matter up with Social Media platforms directly. 

Meanwhile, Facebook which owns Instagram said that they tried to remove the racist content as quickly as possible and have encouraged people to use the tools to block abuse.
