Ahead of the US presidential elections in November, Facebook on Thursday announced measures to check the spread of misinformation before, during, and after the elections.
The social media giant said that it will reduce political ads in the week before the election and will also take down the posts that conveys misinformation about Covid-19 and voting.
While Facebook has mostly been criticised about its policies on political ads, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the new policies are aimed towards reducing chances of violence and unrest.
Meanwhile, many have criticised new regulations, calling it a PR Stunt.
