Fever, fatigue and headache are the most common symptoms associated with Covid-19 in children, while a few may show a developing cough and may lose their sense of smell or taste, a new study has found.
Researchers at King's College London stated that there is an urgent need for people to know the key symptoms at different ages, rather than a blanket approach.
For the study, the team looked 198 children who were positive out of 16,000 tested. More than half of the symptomatic children had fatigue, 54% had a headache and half of them showed a fever. A relatively smaller proportion had a sore throat, skin rash or diarrhoea.
In contrast, most common symptoms in adults were a persistent cough, loss of smell, sore throat, fever and headache.
