Filmmaker Spike Lee to head Cannes Film Festival jury this year

Director Spike Lee joins the jury of the Cannes Film Festival this year. Lee was supposed to join the jury last year, however, plans were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Cannes Film Festival will take place around July 6-17 and Spike Lee will be the first person of colour to head the jury of the esteemed festival.

Spike Lee is among the most popular directors in Hollywood. Films directed by him like 'Do the Right Thing' and 'Malcolm X' are some of the most critically acclaimed movies in Hollywood. His last film 'Da 5 Bloods' which released in 2020 on Netflix gathered great reviews from critics and audiences alike.
