Greece's largest migrant facility on the island of Lesbos was incinerated on Wednesday, forcing thousands of refugees to flee to the nearby towns. While the cause is still unclear, the local fire chief said that fire broke out in more than 3 places in a short space of time. Some people suffered injuries as 25 firefighters with 10 engines battled the blaze to rescue the stranded migrants. Although the main flare-up was controlled, the small fires in various containers were still not extinguished. The overcrowded Moria refugee camp which was home to around 13,000 people had imposed some additional restrictions after Covid cases were reported on the premises last week.
