Flying into Mumbai - make sure you are updated on the new norms

RT PCR has been made mandatory for all international travelers coming into the financial capital Mumbai. As per the latest update from the Mumbai municipal body rapid RT-PCR test will be conducted for all traveling from overseas. This was applicable only for 'at-risk' countries last week but now that distinction has been taken away.

So here is what the new norms are 

  • Passengers with negative reports will be allowed to leave, but they will need to observe mandatory home quarantine for seven days.

  • lnternational passengers who test positive in the rapid RT-PCR test shall undergo routine RT-PCR test at the airport itself

  • All symptomatic passengers testing positive at the airport will be admitted to Seven Hills Hospital or if willing to bear expense will be moved to Bombay Hospital or Breach Candy Hospital

  • Asymptomatic passengers with positive results have the option of private hospital at cost or  free of cost to jumbo Covid facilities in the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC)
