France imposes curfew amid second wave of Covid cases

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced curfew in France in the wake of a surging second wave of coronavirus infections. The curfew would be in effect from 9 am to 6 am for four weeks starting Saturday in a number cities, including Paris, Lille, Lyon, Marseille and Toulouse. While Macron called the situation "worrisome", he added that "control has not been lost". France has seen a spike in Covid cases since July with the most recent record daily high of nearly 27,000 infections on October 10.
