The Supreme Court on Tuesday came down heavily on 'frivolous petitions', observing that such petitions have been making the top court dysfunctional.

Justice DY Chandrachud while dismissing a plea said: "When I went through the board today, 95 percent of the cases were frivolous. System is becoming dysfunctional because of this. We are seized with matter of national importance, but still we have to read all this."

An angry Justice Chandrachud further added that he was planning to upload the suo motu Covid-19 order but was not able to due to frivolous matters. "Please respect the sanctity of the institution," he said.
