Namibia secured its spot in the Super 12 stage from Round 1 in the ICC World T20, after beating Ireland in Sharjah by 8 wickets on Friday. Ireland won the toss and decided to bat first. Paul Stirling and Kevin O Brien's 38 off 24 and 25 off 24 respectively gave a flying start to the team. However, their dismissal in quick successions hurt the team badly. Namibia's Jan Frylinck and David Wiese together took 5 wickets as Ireland could only manage to put a score of 125 on board.
