The Election Commission has sent a strong reply to TMC's letter alleging that the poll panel is working at the behest of a particular party in West Bengal after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee got injured in an incident on Wednesday.

The Election Commission said that TMC's memorandum is 'full of insinuations and averments, which in fact questions the functioning of the Commission'.

It added that it is completely incorrect to suggest that the poll panel has taken over the law and order machinery in the state for elections. 'It looks undignified even to respond to the allegations,' the EC said.

The TMC has alleged that the incident happened because EC had removed Bengal DGP recently and also said that law and order are responsiblity of the poll panel during elections.
