GatiShakti: PM Modi launches Rs 100 lakh crore master plan for infra

In a big boost to Aatmanirbhar Bharat mission, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched the ‘PM GatiShakti - National Master Plan’ for multi-modal connectivity to economic zones in the country.

Speaking at the mega launch event,PM Narendra Modi said: "We are laying a foundation for the next 25 years. This national master plan will give 'gatishakti' to development plans of the 21st century & will help in the timely completion of these plans"

Here's all you need to know about ‘PM GatiShakti - National Master Plan’ :

• It's a ₹100 lakh-crore project for developing ‘holistic infrastructure'

• National masterplan to increase inter-ministerial coordination

• Six pillars: comprehensiveness, prioritisation, optimisation, synchronisation, analytical and dynamic

• Centralised portal where all ministries can view each other's projects

• Help ministries/depts plan projects and identify critical gaps

• Create multiple employment opportunities and boost the economy

• Improve global competitiveness of local products by cutting down logistics costs, improving supply chains

• Build an integrated, harmonised transportation and logistics grid.

• Multi-modal transport network to provide seamless movement of people, goods and services

• Geographic information system-enabled platform will provide on-ground progress through satellite imagery

• Work on cutting down time-taking approval process and multiple regulatory clearances
