Google, Jio to collaborate on made-for-India JioPhone Next smartphone

Jio will collaborate with Google on a made-for-india affordable smartphone called the JioPhone Next, Mukesh Ambani announced at the Reliance Annual General Meeting 2021.

SundarPichai, CEO of Google’s parent company Alphabet, also addressed the meeting and mentioned that the software will be specially optimised for India, with features like live translation, and a smart camera.

The price of the smartphone was not revealed, but Mukesh Ambani spoke about the need for an affordable 4G smartphone. The JioPhone Next will be released on September 10.
