Google wins approval from EU to buy Fitbit for $2.1 billion

Google has won approval from the EU to go ahead with it's $2.1 billion acquisition of Fitbit, after it agreed to conditions that included not using health data collected from European users for advertising purposes. The EU competition chief said in a statement that the commitments ensure that the wearable market will remain open and competitive.
