Starting small to becoming Badshaah
Shah Rukh who hails from Delhi began his career with a TV show 'Fauji' in 1989 and continued to star in shows like 'Circus' and 'Umeed' on Doordarshan. But life had bigger and better plans for him. He got his big film break in 'Deewana' opposite Divya Bharti in 1992 and tasted Box Office success for the first time. Shah Rukh then took up a new challenge, starring in a series of negative roles like 'Darr' & 'Baazigar'.
Shah Rukh Khan: The King of Romance
The title of 'king of romance' came with Yash Chopra's 'Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge'. Paired opposite Kajol, DDLJ not only entered the record books by becoming the longest-running Hindi movie in Bollywood history, but also sort of immortalised the film's lead pair. 'Dil To Pagal Hai', Mohabbatein and 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' followed and there was no looking back.
Shah Rukh and Gauri's love story
Shah Rukh first fell for Gauri Chibber when he was 18 years old. The Delhi teen bumped into Gauri at a party when she was just 14. The two started dating when SRK's career had barely taken off. After a heady romance that survived his struggling days in Mumbai, and amid opposition from family members, Shah Rukh married Gauri in a traditional Hindu ceremony on October 25, 1991. The couple have three children, Aryan their oldest, daughter Suhana and their youngest son AbRam, who was born through surrogacy.
Building his opulent Mumbai mansion 'Mannat'
Superstar Shah Rukh Khan truly lives life king size. Located in the Mumbai suburb of Bandra, his house, 'Mannat' is a sprawling 2,446 sqm property with 6-storey high, sea-facing house. Shah Rukh has himself said, that Mannat is his most expensive purchase, pegged at some Rs 200 crores. SRK has always credited his wife Gauri for designing and decorating his house. Shah Rukh gave fans a glimpse of what 'Mannat' looks like from the inside, during an interview with David Letterman, which streamed on Netflix.
The Shah Rukh - Salman Khan friendship
Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan's friendship goes a long way back and has survived many ups and downs. The two continue to do cameos in each other’s movies besides promoting them on social media. Salman Khan had recently confirmed that he indeed features in a cameo in SRK's upcoming action thriller 'Pathan'.
Waiting for SRK to return to the big screen
Fans are hoping to see Shah Rukh Khan again on the big screen soon, with action drama 'Pathan', where he will essay the role of a secret agent. He will also be seen in Tamil director Atlee’s film titled 'Sanki’.
