Amid the farmers agitation against new Central laws, Haryana’s ruling BJP-JJP combine suffered an electoral setback on Wednesday as it could win just one of the three mayoral seats. While the BJP won in Panchkula, the Congress and the Haryana Jan Chetna Party bagged mayoral posts in Sonipat and Ambala, respectively. The ruling combine also suffered defeats in civic polls in Hisar's Ukalana and Rewari's Dharuhera - both of which are seen as strongholds of Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala's Jannayak Janata Party.
