The Uttarakhand High Court pulled up CM Tirath Singh Rawat's government over its management of the Kumbh Mela in Haridwar amid a surge in Covid-19 cases

While hearing a number of PILs in this regard, the High Court bench made several verbal observations.

Pilgrimage during this time is a 'frightening one', the court said.

The bench suggested different mode for registration for vaccinations in Uttarakhand. It also advised state government to increase the number of cremation grounds.
