Healthcare workers to protest against assault on them on June 18

Indian Medical Association will lead a protest against assault on healthcare professionals with 'Save the Saviour' slogan on June 18. While announcing the protest IMA President Dr JA Jayalal said doctors will wear a black band, black mask or black shirt to register their protest and that no hospitals will closed.

Dr Jayalal added that there have been several incidents of doctors serving in Covid wards being beaten & brutally assaulted across the country and it is responsibility of govt to ensure the safety of frontline workers. 

THe IMA wants the govt to bring in a central protection law for healthcare workers under CrPC and IPC.
