Highest ever defence allocation at ₹3 trillion

The defence budget has been increased to over ₹3 trillion, compared to the outlay of ₹2.95 trillion in the previous Budget. This is the highest ever allocation. "Our govt allocated ₹35,000 crore for our jawans for 'One Rank One Pension' (OROP) scheme. We have increased the defence budget to ₹3 lakh crore for 2019-20, for securing our borders and to maintain preparedness of the highest order. If necessary, additional funds will also be provided," Finance Minister Piyush Goyal said.
