Over 100 historic monuments in Tricolour across the country as India achieved landmark milestone of administrating 100 crore COVID vaccinations in one of the World’s largest and fastest vaccination drive
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) lit up 100 of its heritage monuments on Thursday in colours of the national flag to mark the landmark achievement.
Issuing a statement, the Ministry of Culture said that the 100 monuments that are being lit up in Tricoluor include UNESCO World Heritage Sites – Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb & Qutb Minar in Delhi, Agra Fort & Fatehpur Sikri in UP, Konark Temple in Odisha, Mamallapuram Rath temples in Tamil Nadu, St Francis of Assisi Church in Goa.
In its statement, the ministry expressed gratitude towards the corona warriors who ‘have worked beyond their call of duty to help the country face the pandemic effectively’
Photos and videos shared on social media showed the monuments bathed in the tricolour as several people gathered around to take in the vibrant sights.
The celebration is a tribute to health professionals, frontline workers, scientists, vaccine manufacturers and the citizens of the country who bravely fought the pandemic, officials said
