Nothing really beats water retention like good old water itself. Drinking lots of water will assist your kidneys in flushing the sodium out by urination. So, drink a little more than your regular water intake to get all that sodium out of your system.
WATER-RICH FOODS
If drinking too much water seems difficult, try eating it. Yes, you can increase your intake by consuming water-rich foods. Anything from strawberries, watermelon, oranges to lettuce, cucumber and lauki can help level up your water consumption.
HIGH-POTASSIUM FOODS
Apart from water, potassium can help counteract sodium. Go for bananas, oranges, tomatoes, strawberries, avocados or beans to increase your potassium intake. This mineral works alongside sodium to control, correct and maintain the fluid balance in your body.
DO SOME CARDIO
Another way to flush out the sodium is to just get sweaty. Going to the gym, doing cardio or just taking a brisk walk can help you sweat out the bad stuff. Just remember to stay hydrated when you work out.
