Huawei is all set to release HarmonyOS, its own operating system for smartphones, on June 2. The company is switching to an in-house Android-based OS due to US government sanctions that bar it from using many Android features.
According to a report in GizChina, all phones running Huawei’s Kirin 710 to Kirin 9000 chipsets will receive the update to HarmonyOS. This includes their popular phones like the Mate X2, Mate 40 series, and P40 series. Huawei is expected to announce a timeline for the update for older phones when it launches.
