Former India T20 captain Virat Kohli has dropped out of ICC T20 rankings for batters for the first time in 18 months. Kohli, who was rested for the 3-match T20 series vs New Zealand, dropped from 8th to the 11th spot.
Kohli though has been excellent with the bat in the shortest format. In 2021, Virat has scored 299 runs in 8 T20I innings at a staggering average of almost 75. He had a strike rate of just under 133 during this period.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma moved 2 spots to the 13th spot in the ICC T20I men's Batting Rankings. KL Rahul, who had a fine run in the 3-match T20I series vs the Kiwis, moved a spot to 5th. He is the only Indian in the top 10 list. Pakistan skipper Babar Azam though continues to lead the rankings despite a poor show in the T20 series vs Bangladesh.
