The Taliban has warned the United States and other countries that the failure to recognise their government in Afghanistan would lead to problems not only for the country but for the world.
Though leaders from several countries have held talks with Taliban leaders, the armed group's govt in Afghanistan has not been formally recognised by any country since they took over in August. Billions of dollars in Afghan assets and funds abroad have also been frozen.
Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid told reporters that Afghan problems would continue if their govt is not recognised and those problems could become a problem for the world.
