In case you didn't know, 503 new species were discovered in 2020

A critically-endangered monkey, an armoured slug and an amphibian that breathes through its skin are among 503 new species named by the Natural History Museum in London this year. Researchers at the museum have also given information on their form and structure. Naming a species helps protect it. New species of frogs and snakes were also discovered. Beetles topped the list, with 170 new species named this year.

Researchers shared that the discoveries revealed hidden connections between some places and the diversity present in the environment.
