A political slugfest ensued in Bihar following reports that empty liquor bottles were recovered from the state Legislative Assembly.

Pertinently, the sale and consumption of liquor are banned in Bihar.

Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav took an aim at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday saying the ministers in the Nitish Kumar government have the freedom to commit crimes and that the CM should apologise to the people of the state.

"How did liquor bottles enter the Bihar Assembly? The Chief Minister should himself do a survey. We have seen pictures of CM Nitish Kumar with the liquor mafia. Nitish Kumar's ministers have the freedom to commit crimes. The CM should apologise to the people of Bihar," the RJD leader said.

Hours later, an under-fire Nitish told the Bihar Assembly that he will call for a probe. “I will tell Chief Secretary and DGP to get an inquiry done. It is not an ordinary thing if the bottles came here. The one who is doing this should not be spared. Strict action should be taken,” the CM said.
