New Zealand openers put up a batting masterclass on Day 2 of the Kanpur Test as the Kiwis ended the day at 129/0, trailing India by 216 runs.
To start with, Shreyas Iyer led India's charge with the bat and soon smashed his maiden Test ton in his debut Test. But the hosts suffered a batting collapse and lost their last 6 wickets for just 79 runs. Tim Southee rattled India with a 5-wicket-haul and bowled them out for 345.
With 3 spinners in the side, India would have expected to make early inroads but it was not to be. Tom Latham and Will Young scored a half-century each and remained unbeaten till stumps.
