A total of 16 wickets fell on Day 2 of the 2nd Test vs New Zealand in Mumbai. India overnight centurion Mayank Agarwal started well and reached his 150-run mark but failed to go beyond that. After Mayank's departure, Axar Patel accelerated and reached his maiden Test fifty. India were bundled out for 325 in the second session.

However, it was Mumbai-born Kiwi spinner Ajaz Patel who stole the show, becoming only the third bowler on the planet to take all 10 wickets in an innings after Jim Laker and Anil Kumble.

Team India came back strongly with the bowl as Mohammed Siraj rocked the New Zealand top-order, taking three wickets upfront. New Zealand never recovered from the initial collapse as Ashwin, Jayant and Axar spun a web, shooting down the Kiwis for a mere 62. Ashwin was the pick of the bowler with 4 wickets in his kitty.

Despite having a 263 runs lead, Virat Kohli decided not to enforce the follow-on. Cheteshwar Pujara and Mayank Agarwal opened the batting for India and remained unbeaten. At stumps on Day 2, India were 69 for no loss with a lead of 332 runs.
