As India marks 75th year of independence from the British, the 228-strong Indian Olympic Contingent will be invited as special guests to the Red Fort on August 15.
Prime Minister Modi will invite the Oympians for the Independence Day event and also interact with them at his residence.
It is the largest ever Indian Olympic contingent comprising of 120 athletes.
The Prime Minister has been vocal in cheering for the sportspersons at the Tokyo Olympics.
On Tuesday he tweeted that their spirited performance in Tokyo is making 130 crore Indians proud.
