India reported 30,948 new cases of Covid-19 on Sunday morning, taking the total caseload of the country to over 3.24 crore, according to the Union Health Ministry. The death toll surpassed 4.34 lakh with 403 fresh fatalities.
The ministry said that active cases stand at 3,53,395, the lowest in 152 days, and comprise 1.09 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March last year.
38,487 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours while the recovery rate increased to 97.57 per cent, the highest since March 2020.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 1.95 per cent, which has been less than 3 per cent for the last 27 days.
The govt also informed that 58.14 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive.
