India on Tuesday recorded a significant dip in daily Covid-19 cases logging less than 40,000 new cases for the first time on 102 days. 37,566 new infections reported in the last 24 hours, which is much lower than 46,000 Covid cases seen on Monday. 907 people lost their lives battling Covid in the last 24 hours taking the total fatalities to 3.97 lakh.
The active caseload of the country has declined to 5.5 lakh, which is 1.82% of the total cases.
Daily recoveries have now continued to outnumber the daily new cases for the 47th consecutive day, with the nationwide recovery rate currently at 96.87%.
