As many as 2,000 travellers are reportedly stuck on a Mumbai-Goa cruise ship after a crew member tested positive for Covid-19.
The Hindustan Times has reported that the health authorities in Goa are testing all the 2,000 passengers onboard the cruise ship.
The ship had come from Mumbai and is docked at Mormugao cruise terminal. The infected crew member has been put under isolation, the report added.
Operators of the Cordelia cruise ship have been asked to conduct Covid-19 tests on all the passengers through the Vasco-based Salgaonkar Medical Research Centre Hospital. All the passengers have been asked to stay on the cruise ship till their test results arrive.
Meanwhile, the sizable number of tourists that descended on Goa for the Christmas-New Year festival season may be behind the Covid-19 positivity rate crossing 10 per cent on Sunday, officials said.
