At least six terrorists of Jaish-e-Muhammad were slain in twin gunfights in Jammu and Kashmir since Wednesday evening.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police said two encounters raged in Anantnag and Kulgam districts of the valley after the security forces received tip off about the presence of terrorists.
The Police said once the security forces reached the suspected spots, hiding militants fired at them leading to encounters. While two Pakistani and a local terrorist were killed in the brief exchange of firing at Mirhama in Kulgam, three more were killed in Anantnag encounter.
"6 terrorists of proscribed terror outfit JeM killed in two separate encounters. 4 among the killed terrorists have been identified so far as (2) Pakistani & (2) local terrorists. Identification of other 02 terrorists is being ascertained. A big success for us: IGP Kashmir," the Kashmir Zone Police tweeted.
