As many as seven people were killed and about 40 others injured after a fire broke out in a building in Mumbai's Goregaon area.
The incident occurred in the early hours of October 6. Among the injured, 25 have been sent to HBT Trauma Care Hospital, while 15 are being treated at Cooper Hospital.
The blaze was brought under control after eight fire engines and five jumbo water tankers were deployed.
According to an official, the building was constructed in 2006 under the Slum Rehabilitation scheme and had no firefighting system.
