For the second day in a row, Lok Sabha proceedings were affected within minutes of the House convening. The Adani-Hindenburg row intensified on 3 February 2023 with Opposition MPs raising slogans for an investigation.

Question Hour was disrupted as Opposition raised slogans like "we want JPC" (Joint Parliamentary Committee probe), and "desh ko lootna band karo" (stop looting the nation). When Speaker Om Birla's appeals for calm went unheeded, he adjourned the House for 3 hours.

The Opposition has alleged that institutions like LIC and SBI were forced by the Narendra Modi administration to invest in the Adani group which has been accused of fraud by US-based short seller Hindenburg Research.
